What is the real benifit of the Moroso oil pan? I know it's bigger so it will hold more oil, but besides that, what's the deal? Why not just add an oil cooler if you want to add more oil? I'd get one if it's necessary, but I just wanted to know if it was worth it.

I got one. It doesnt increase horsepower or anything, but it sure did make my turbo install easier. It is a really nice piece. It has baffling for the oil, and on the oil return fitting it has a shield to keep the really hot ass oil coming out of the turbo off the bottom girdle. I previously had the oil plug welded to the stock oil pan. I had problems with it leaking a little. I had the opportunity to pick the moroso up at a descent price. Is it worth it, you decide. To me it was but it's like adding icing to the cake if you know what I mean? I will say that if you are hurting for $$, that $$ could probably be spent on something else.

I cannot show results from a before/after HP test, but I can tell you that I would not build a performance motor for myself without one. I know for sure that they reduce windage and offer more oil capacity... and this is good insurance for a high $$$ motor.
